Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information The Joseph Gene — Business Symposium 2026 collects when you register for the event, why we collect it, and how it's handled. This event is hosted by Phaneroo Ministries International ("Phaneroo", "we", "us"), based in Kampala, Uganda, which is the data controller for this information.
What we collect
When you register, we collect:
- Your first and last name
- Email address and phone number
- Organisation name, if you provide one (optional)
- Number of seats, and the full name of each additional person you're booking a seat for
- Payment confirmation details from our payment processors (transaction reference and amount — we do not receive or store your card or mobile money details; those go directly to the processor)
Why we collect it
- To register you and every named attendee for the event, and to generate and issue each attendee's ticket and QR code
- To verify tickets and check attendees in at the door
- To email you a payment receipt and your ticket(s)
- To contact you with information relevant to the event you registered for (schedule changes, venue details, and similar)
We only collect what's needed for these purposes — we don't ask for information we don't use.
Who we share it with
- Flutterwave — processes mobile money and card payments. Your card or mobile money details are handled entirely by Flutterwave; we never see or store them.
- Mastercard Payment Gateway — processes card payments made through the "Pay with card" option. Your card details are entered on Mastercard's own secure payment page and are handled entirely by them; we never see or store them.
- Our website hosting and email delivery providers — used to run the registration site, store registrant records securely, and send receipts. These providers only process data on our instructions, under contractual confidentiality and security obligations, and don't use it for their own purposes.
We do not sell your information or share it with anyone for their own marketing purposes.
Analytics
We use a privacy-friendly analytics tool to understand overall visits and registrations to this site. It does not use cookies and does not identify individual visitors — it only reports aggregate numbers (for example, how many people visited or registered), never who did.
How long we keep it
We retain registration and ticket records for the duration of the event and for up to 12 months afterward, to handle receipts, support requests, and any payment disputes. After that period, records are deleted or anonymised unless we're required to keep them for longer for accounting purposes.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the information we hold about you at any time by emailing info@phaneroo.org. We'll respond as quickly as we can.
Governing law
This policy is intended to meet the requirements of Uganda's Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019. If you're registering from another country, your local data protection law may also apply.
